We are Moving

I just got a job as the Baptist Student Ministry Director at Tarleton State University, so we are busy BUSY trying to pack, close up with my clients here and move our family so I can start on August 1.

So staying true to Bullion form we are moving.  We have been married for 6 years and are moving into our 7th house, into our 5th city, in the third country we've lived in  We have moved every summer since we've been married.  It definately keeps the junk level down though.

The good news is that this time the company is paying a professional moving company to move us.  WHICH IS AWESOME!!!

so stay tuned for pics of our new house and etc, etc.

It was that kindof day

We went to meet my parents for lunch today, so we loaded in the car and headed off to Stephenville, TX the halfway point between us and them.  We are pulling into town and Nate looks up at us and spews, I mean spews, in a projectile kindof way, bright green vomit all over him, the carseat, and the floorboard.  Did we bring an extra set of clothes?  Of course not, because we never need them anymore!  So we headed to Wal-Mart to get him new clothes so we could take him in to eat. We had lunch and got back in the vomit-reaking car to drive home.

On the way home we pass by some bluebonnets, and yes we are THAT family and we got out to take pictures.  And seriously, Noah asked to.  It has been a rainy week, so we had to trapse through the mud to get up to the flowers and what happens?  Noah and Nate both flip out and won't take pictures.  Nate smells like throw up and the rest of us are covered in mud and all we have to show for our outing is this one picture of Noah.  Click here to see it.

Things Have Changed

What can you say? I mean really, what can you say? People said, "oh, having your second will be like such-and-such" or "y'all will be doing such-and-such."

Well, Nathanael is 3 days old and all of us are still here. In some ways nothing has changed. In some ways, everything is different! Nathanael, when he isn't eating, just sits in his chair by the window and looks at.... dirt, yeah, basically just the dirt blowing around (sandstorms the past week, the whole house is caked in dirt). Noah is his normal self just with one more baby to play with.

Noah loves Nathanael. So our role towards Nathanael is really more of a guardian as to a parent. We spend a lot of time protecting him from his loving big brother! However today for breakfast Noah and I went out to catch food for the women and children and Noah discovered powdered donuts!

How things are definitely different:
* Getting 2 boys to sleep at the same time is harder than just 1.
* We have 3 times the diapers as before
* I am taking out the trash more
* Sleep is like that pot at the end of the rainbow: you chase it, but never find it.
* We fill up a car. No more giving people lifts. We are full. Full of kids, toys, car seats, strollers, and diaper bags.
* We spend alot of time changing clothes and doing laundry.

With all that said we are very happy and doing very well.

Noah-isms from the week

Sorry about the lack of posting. No excuses really, just laziness, I guess.

Here is, off the top of my head, things Noah has done this week that has made us laugh or cry depending on how long that day was.

Pantry Dryer
We walked into the kitchen the other day. All of the canned goods were stacked neatly in the dryer.

Pop Tarts
It was 9pm and all was quiet. I was in the office working, B was washing dishes, Noah was...wait a minute, where is Noah? We found Noah in the living room with blueberry filling smeared all over his very, very happy, smiley face. He had ganked a box of unopened Pop Tarts from the cabinet and had managed to rip the box open and then rip open the package and had polished off one of the pop tarts and was half way through the other one before we caught him.

Mommom! Mommom!
That is B's name. not Momma, but Mommom. We here it from the kitchen this time and go running in. Noah has climbed up the dryer and all we see is two little kicking legs sticking out of the washing machine.

Baby Bible
After lunch we read a Bible story together and pray. Noah loves his Read-to-Me Bible for Kids. He really loves the picture of baby Jesus, so we spend half the time reading and the other half flipping back to the picture of baby Jesus, so Noah will be quiet and let us finish. This is a sample,
Me: Peter and John were..
Noah: BABY?
Me: yes, in a minute..."going to the temp...
BABY!?!
yes, hold on.
BABY! BABY! BABY!!
Okay.....you win.
*Peter and John never got into the temple that day. They had to wait till we saw baby Jesus first.

Jesus Loves Me

Every night we pray together as a family and sing "Jesus loves me." One night this week, it went like this.
B: "Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells...."
Noah: BIBLE??
B: "Yes, the Bible tells us that Jesus loves us...., Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible te..."
BIBLE??
B: Yes, the Bible tells...
BIBLE!!
(the rest of the song was finished with Noah screaming Bible! Bible!)

Baby Nathanael
"Noah, where is baby Nathanael?" Noah will then run and pat or kiss B's tummy. Yeah, "awwww, how sweet," right? But today right after doing that, he found Baby Nathanael's stash of stuff animals hidden in a drawer. They are no longer Baby Nathanael's stuffed animals. They are Noah's stuffed animals.

And there's our week in recap. Hope it made you smile.

Pregnancy Update

B is still pregnant. I know this for several reasons. But lately it has been on the forefront of my mind everytime I lay down to sleep. Two weeks ago, winter hit. You probably don't believe me but its cold, in the 40s cold. While that may not seem like that bad to you, remember we live in a cement house and only have two space heaters. Here is Noah's picture to prove it.

So I know B is pregnant because when I come to bed, I pile every blanket in the house including some of Noah's little quilts all over my side of the bed (my side looks like a huge quilt of all of Noah's quilts) and move one of the space heaters close to my feet. B, sleeps with the normal comforter and complains how hot it was when she wakes up in the morning, meanwhile I am losing toes to frostbite.

But this week we are going in for the "What is it?" sonogram. So what is your hunch or wish? Not that it really matters at this point. I mean, the return policy on things like this is very limited.

B says girl. I think its a boy. You?

Spaghetti Sauce Stains..... Children

We all have it.

You know, that one Tupperware container you stored your leftover spaghetti sauce in. It's still sortof clear, but its got that red tint to it and no matter how hard you scrub it just never returns to its original color.
This is what I picture when I look at my son, wondering if he will ever be back to normal again.

It went something like this....
We shipped his high chair last week so insha'allah it will be there by the time we are in our new home. This makes feeding Noah fun to say the least. Because of this conundrum, I have heard B say more than once my favorite quote from her about Noah.

Child, you don't need a bib, you need an eight by ten tarp!

Tonight was no exception. We had spaghetti, and the noodles and the sauce were problematic for both child and parent to remain semi-clean during the process, so we just set Noah down on the floor and filled up his bowl with spaghetti and sauce.

By the end of the meal, Noah, the floor, his diaper, and the chair next to him were all a pretty shade of spaghetti sauce red. It was AWESOME!!! He looked like he had donned himself in warpaint and was on his way to global domination.

In the end, B took our little Indian brave straight to the bathtub and I took to scrubbing the floor, chair, table, and everything else to get the red off. My job went well. B came back in though with our happy, smiling child and he had a redish tint to his chin, neck, arms, legs, and the top of his round, little belly. Priceless.

Yup...that's going to have to wear off.

We Have A New Nephew Video!

We have a new nephew! Jaden Dakota was born on Friday. We are so excited! I recommend this video to everyone no matter how long it takes to download.

Jaden Dakota Nowell Video

This footage was shot by my father who was there. This experience thus far has been the hardest things to experience overseas. Watching our family celebrate and the only way we get to experience it is through a video. But praise God. Every good and perfect thing comes down from the Father of the heavenly light. And Jaden is definately a good gift as well as the technology to allow us to see him only hours after his birth via camera. God is good.
